Through Mobile First and Responsive design, we develop platform agnostic, advanced User Experience capabilities that maximize functionality for users on desktop and mobile platforms, providing them a common User Experience and maximizing the efficacy of the solutions that we deliver to the federal and commercial market place.

Our AgileView methodology delivers capabilities that will be offered to customer stakeholders through varying delivery channels including desktop and mobile devices. This ensures that users have a common user experience across platforms and delivery channels, and simplifies core development interdependencies such as security architecture, data integration and workflow.

Using our AgileView methodology, our team will support the delivery of incremental and deployable capabilities in shortened timeframes across Requirements Analysis, Software Design, Development and Testing.

As an organization develops its information technology (IT) strategy to meet current and future business needs, the direction has been towards commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. Many Agencies are required to consider COTS applications prior to undertaking custom development. Limitations on the ability to retire and replace all existing applications have a major impact on the ability to migrate all functions to the COTS solutions, whether they be single vendor enterprise systems or best of breed multi-vendor combinations. In many cases, the existing application is very specialized to its working environment. In others, there is not a comparable COTS product available. With all of the push towards COTS systems, there remains the requirement to develop custom applications and integrate across multiple environments to efficiently and effectively complete your mission.

Cloud computing continues to reduce the cost and complexity of operations support through arrangements like software as a service, application hosting, and full outsourcing. The widespread adoption of tablets and smartphones is changing the user interface to secure, mobile applications. To take advantage of rapidly evolving technology and provide accurate, timely information for management, application development and integration is essential.

LTS, Inc. understands balancing the needs of a complex IT environment, managing competing priorities, leveraging and maximizing limited resources, and realizing the benefits of an IT strategy at the agency and sub-agency levels. We leverage emerging technologies and processes to design, develop, and implement technology solutions ranging from mobile applications to complex web service integration across disparate networks and platforms. We have developed a project delivery framework over the past 10 years that incorporates principles from the PMI’s PMBOK, ITIL, and packaged software implementation methodologies such as Oracle’s AIM/OUM and SAP’s ASAP. We incorporated Agile principles to provide rapid, high quality results with reduced costs and faster return on investment for our customers. We deliver results using Agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches to support diverse client environments.

Application Development and Integration Service Offerings:

Application Development
The advancement in development technology and tools has simplified the development of high quality solutions. Our professionals are trained and certified in the latest tools to provide a single source for a wide variety of development requirements. Specific activities include:

  • Cross-Platform Development (including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) – A cross-platform design and development approach allows us to write the underlying code for an application once and have it run across multiple platforms while still providing the application access to the underlying components of a mobile device, such as a camera and GPS. The client benefits by having their app support multiple form factors (i.e., desktops, tablets, smartphones, wearables) and multiple vendor devices (i.e., iOS, Android, Microsoft).
  • Traditional Development (including SQL, PL/SQL, BPEL) – Enterprise applications include embedded tool sets designed to perform seamlessly within the system. The tools are designed to simplify the complexity and effort during the upgrade and patching processes. These vendor applications are an important part of the overall IT solution supporting operations and reporting.
  • Application Integration

The outsourcing of the infrastructure that supports critical business applications provides organizations with a competitive advantage through obtaining efficient, flexible hosting arrangements. Demand fluctuations including seasonal surges can be managed through purchasing capacity from providers instead of deep infrastructure investments. Taking advantage of these opportunities requires secure integration. Specific activities include:

  • Middleware – Connections between disparate systems may cross multiple networks platforms and technologies with transformation on its way to the destination. This transformation is managed in the middleware to provide uniform, secure transformation of the data. LTS, Inc leverages open standards and industry best practices in middleware design that limit proprietary lock-ins and complex migrations. Our vision helps build a scalable, secure middleware layer that will enable data from your back-end data to be consumed by a wide range of systems and remote endpoints, including mobile devices.
  • API Development – Modern systems include Application Programmers Interfaces (API) or other means to deliver information to and from the various systems. When integrating newer dispersed systems into older environments or developing applications to promote secure access, APIs may be required. Our experienced resources understand the importance of leveraging existing integration technologies and also developing standards based integration capabilities1 using open source tools and techniques.
  • Mobile Application Development and Management

  • Responsive User Interface (UX) Design & User-centered Design (UCD) – The goal for an enterprise is to not develop to a specific device form factor (i.e., desktop, tablet, smartphone, wearable, etc.) but have the app change its layout dynamically to fit the device. This is accomplished by using open design and development technologies and standards such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. We have experience in website usability and user experience. For a majority of our usability work we focus on User-centered Design (UCD). Through a UCD approach, we have focused on the layout, language, and functionality of our client’s applications.
  • Enterprise Mobile Management – The ongoing balance between user access and security is clear with mobile applications reaching the general public with a collection of devices and formats. Enterprise Mobility includes decisions on devices to deploy, support or allow to access your resources. LTS enterprise mobility approach includes creating a platform that manages and secures remote endpoints, whether employer-owned or personal, while ensuring scalability and stability as new devices come online.
